Im going to be away from the office for a few weeks. Today I will be giving a talk to 200 wildlife photographers at the Wildphotos conference in Bristol and this will be followed by some onsite work at various clients. I will still be available on my mobile number which is 07776 448621 if you have any emergencies, I will also be checking my emails.
Over at the (very slow) Adobe website there are lots of updates for Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw. To help speed you up I have listed the direct links here:
Camera raw version 3.5 for windows
Photoshop version CS2 9.0.2 update for windows
Camera raw version 3.5 for OSX
Photoshop version CS2 9.0.2 update for OSX
Meanwhile back at the ranch, Phase one; the cheeky little monkeys, have been burning the midnight oil to release 3.7.5 of their C1 software, this supports new cameras (including the Leica M8) and has some other general improvements. You can get it here
Worth keeping up with these updates, download, install and forget.
Now available from the Adobe Website here:

Raw workflow program that kind of works for photographers in general, not quite optimized for Stock Photography or library use, will need to work out a system for that.
Looks like the printing problem when using Photoshop 9.0.1 on OSX is not down to poor programming at Adobe but is due instead to a failure at some level of Apples operating system. Apple have released a patch that solves this (and quite a few other problems) here:
Operating systems are complex things.
I have installed Beta 2 of Vista on a spare machine here in order to test its suitability for imaging. I will report back after I have had chance to try it on real work.
Initial impressions are that the new interface looks nice but drains speed from the machine (A Pentium 4 2.53Ghz with 1.5GB Ram), It just may be that new high spec machines that come with Vista installed will be ok but there is no need to upgrade existing hardware to the new operating system.
The new office is now available for my popular imaging workshops. I will be posting information about the short residential workshops very soon on the reworked copyrightimage.com website. In the meantime if you wish to book a refresher course or perhaps you are making the transition from film to digital and need a little practical help in doing it then dont hesitate to call me on 01263 825277 or email me stephen@copyrightimage.co.uk
If you have Bridge 1.0.3 installed you may wish to run it and select updates… from the Help menu so that you can select 1.0.4 to download.
This update promises faster performance and improved security and should be downloaded.
There are versions for the mac and pc. If you have a version of Bridge earlier than 1.0.3 then you will need to download 1.0.3 before updating it.
You can download updates for Bridge and Photoshop here, Adobe have “improved” the site which as far as I can see makes it slower and less easy to use than their old design, if it aint broke….
